Knox County Watersheds: August 2023 Update

Posted on August 22, 2023 by Christopher Nettles

Water quality monitoring within the watershed is continuing on a monthly basis and will be wrapping up soon in October. A map of the watershed can be viewed at: https://tinyurl.com/5n88upmx . Data can be viewed at: https://tinyurl.com/y38j9kjv . The watershed management plan is also progressing along well, and the steering committee will be meeting again soon. These are public meetings, so use the contact information below for more information if you are interested in attending.

The Hoosier Riverwatch Training Event that was held at Oubache Trails last month was a great success. This was a stream monitoring program where volunteers discovered hands-on methods for testing water quality. Participants (18yrs+) were introduced to habitat, chemical, and biological assessment techniques. We plan to hold more in the future, in case if you missed out on this one.

If you would like more information, you may contact Christopher Nettles at (812) 882-8210 ext. 3407 or email at Christopher.Nettles@In.Nacdnet.net
